He started his unlikely path in cooking simply by being a doting father of three who is highly concerned with his family’s meal since 1986. Therefore, expect a hearty home cooked style from Chef Agus. Although his specialty is International/Western cuisines, he is most proud of his signature Iga Penyet (fried fall-fall-off-the-bone ribs served with ground chili paste and fresh basil). Chef Agus believes that chili and  spice give any dish a kick and take it  to another level. Don’t be surprised to find his Iga Penyet is the best seller  at ADELE.




He helms ADELE as the Executive Chef, a Semarang native with 32 years experience in culinary world. Always proud on his Javanese roots, his specialty is Indonesian food. Strongly believes that authenticity is the key to present Indonesian dishes, he ensures every dish that comes out of his supervised kitchen tells story of its origin to diners’ palates. Outside the kitchen, Gunawan enjoys cycling around the city or in the nature that provides a more challenging trail.
